The Pareto rank does not identify a unique ordering of the results from best to worse.
Rather, it highlights the range of possible trade-offs between stars and the number of reviews.
A Pareto rank of n signifies that there are n-1 places which “dominate” that place.
A place is said to dominate another if it is strictly better in some dimension and no worse in any other dimension.
Rank 1: the optimal frontier
Rank 2: dominated by exactly 1 place
Rank 3: dominated by exactly 2 places, and so on…
